But now for a brief moment grace has been shown from the Lord our God, to leave us a remnant.

WELCOME

Those of us who were fortunate enough to attend Clarke Memorial College (later changed to Clarke College) will forever remember our first college experiences in the classrooms and on the campus in Newton, Mississippi. The friendships forged, lessons learned (and some forgotten!) Boyfriends and girlfriends who later became married couples, chapel services, singspiration and other events all combined to influence the person we are today.

Clarke College offered Baptist Christian education from 1908 to 1992. Throughout its 84-year history, (see A History of Clarke Memorial College, by Upton Reynolds, under HISTORY), it faced continuing challenges in finances and enrollment. It later merged with Mississippi College, and eventually closed in 1992.

The Clarke College Alumni Association CCAA was created around the time the college closed to foster and maintain relationships formed at Clarke College. It further seeks to perpetuate the mission, ministry, and influence of Clarke College around the world, to facilitate alumni programs and activities, and to promote communication and cooperative actions among all graduates and former students. We invite and encourage you to join the CCAA in these efforts.

Our Clarke College Alumni Database has records of alumni from 1947 to 1992, more than 1,300 in all, but there are many we don’t have. Email us if you’d like to add your information to the database. As part of the remnant of Clarke College, you can be a part of its continuing ministry and witness. Each of us is a pilgrim, traveling through life together, following Christ and seeking to help others find and serve Him. This was the spirit we felt at Clarke College and the spirit that remains with us today.
